The Euphorbia lactea 'White Ghost', is known for its almost entirely white, ghostly stems. Unlike its green relatives, this cultivar lacks chlorophyll, giving it a pale, creamy-white appearance with subtle hints of green or pink along the edges and spines, especially when exposed to bright light. The plant has a candelabra-like branching structure and small, sharp spines along the ridges, adding to its dramatic look. This Euphorbia is a striking, low-maintenance choice for plant enthusiasts looking for a unique addition to their collection. Its rare, ethereal appearance makes it a true showpiece, ideal for a bright spot indoors.
CARE:
- Adequate light is a MUST for this plant. It thrives in bright, indirect light to full sun to encourage growth. When it does not receive sufficient light, the plant gets lanky.
- This plant can tolerate periods of cooler temperatures, down to around 12°C, but should be kept out of freezing conditions.
- Allow the soil to nearly dry out, then water thoroughly. Overwatering is a common problem and can lead to root rot.
- Does well in a drier environment
- When repotting, avoid water-retentive soil, and opt for a well-draining gritty succulent mix.
