This juvenile Philodendron Mayoi is starting to display its well-recognized split leaves. When provided with the correct environment, this philodendron is a quick grower! As it matures, it develops large elongated leaves, and the splits on the foliage become much more pronounced.

This plant latches itself to trees or other structures in its natural habitat. That said, you can train this plant to climb on a trellis. Alternatively, when it's mature, it looks stunning when suspended in a corner to cascade, creating almost a canopied appearance as the leaves come down.

CARE:

  • It does best with medium to bright indirect light, but avoid prolonged exposure to direct sun as this can scorch the foliage- a few hours of MORNING sun is fine.
  • Water when the first 1/3 of the soil is dry
  • It does best with moderate to high humidity.
  • This plant can tolerate periods of lower light and humidity, but these conditions can significantly slow its growth and result in the development of smaller leaves.
  • To encourage bushier growth and to remove any damaged or yellowing leaves. You can trim back long stems to maintain a more compact shape.
