These are one of those "conversation starter" houseplants. The fronds of the Rabbit's Foot Fern are delicate and lacy, with a fine texture. The most notable feature is its furry, brownish rhizomes that creep over the soil surface, resembling a rabbit's paw. The fuzzy little "rabbit's feet" are rhizomes, which serve both a decorative and functional role for the plant. These little feet hang over the sides of the pot, giving it a quirky appearance and aiding in nutrient and moisture absorption.
CARE:
- This plant can tolerate varied light conditions but does best with medium-bright indirect light
- It can benefit from a few hours of morning sun, but avoid prolonged exposure to the afternoon sun during the summer months, as this can quickly scorch the plant.
- Keep the soil slightly moist but not soaked
- It does best with a chunky bark-based potting media.
- It does best with moderate-high humidity.
- Protect from drafts
- Ensure the rhizomes ("feet") are not buried in the soil, as they will rot.
