This cactus gets its name because it tends to bloom in the Autumn
Thanksgiving cactus:
- Does well in a spot with consistent bright indirect light (when you observe buds/blooms)
- A couple of hours of direct light is beneficial
- Lower light conditions in the summertime are fine when it is not actively blooming
- Darker conditions are required late summer/early fall to activate development of buds (12 hours of darkness) and lower temperatures (13-15 degrees Celsius)
- Water when the first 70-80 percent of soil becomes dry
- This plant does well with more water while it's blooming
- Ensure that this plant is in a well-draining soil
