The Echinocereus scheeri var. gentryi is a trailing, clumping cactus known for its long, slender stems and large, showy flowers. Unlike many other cacti, this variety has less of an upright structure. As it matures, it develops a semi-pendant growth habit, making it a great option to display crawling or with time, cascading from a planter.
CARE:
- Requires bright, direct sunlight for optimal growth. Place it near a south or west-facing window.
- Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings—water sparingly, especially in cooler months, as it’s highly drought-tolerant.
- When repotting, use a well-draining mix, suitable for cactus and succulents.
