Native to India and Pakistan, the Ficus Audrey (Ficus benghalensis) is a cultivated form of the majestic Banyan tree, India’s national tree. In its natural habitat, Banyan trees are renowned for their immense size and distinctive aerial roots, making them some of the most iconic trees in the world.

As a houseplant, the Ficus Audrey captures the elegance of its wild ancestor in a much more manageable form. Its smooth, pale trunk is beautifully complemented by soft, slightly velvety, oval-shaped leaves with a matte green finish, creating a refined, sophisticated look that suits both modern and traditional interiors. Compact yet statuesque, the Ficus Audrey brings the timeless beauty and character of the legendary Banyan tree to interior spaces. 

CARE:

• Thrives in consistent bright, indirect light and benefits from a few hours of direct sun each day.
• Allow the top half of the soil to dry before watering.
• This plant is relatively drought tolerant but will require more frequent watering during the warmer summer months when it is actively growing.
• Never allow the soil to remain waterlogged, as consistently wet soil can lead to root rot.
• Prefers moderate humidity but adapts well to average household humidity levels.
• Rotate the plant every few weeks to encourage even growth and help prevent it from leaning toward its light source.

*Like many Ficus,  the ‘Audrey’ may shed some leaves during seasonal change or when introduced to a new environment. This is a normal part of acclimation. Once settled into a stable location with consistent light and care, it will reward you with healthy new growth.
