Matelea cyclophylla 3.5”pot

The Matelea cyclophylla is an exceptionally rare caudiciform . As it matures, it develops an impressive swollen caudex that serves as a water reservoir, while delicate climbing vines emerge bearing round, deep green leaves. Its unusual growth habit makes it equally attractive trained on a small trellis or allowed to trail naturally. With time and proper care, the caudex becomes increasingly prominent. 

CARE

• Consistent bright indirect light is ideal. A few hours of gentle morning sun is beneficial, but avoid prolonged harsh afternoon sun.
• Allow the potting mix to dry out between waterings. The caudex stores moisture so be cautious to not keep the soil soggy. Water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry before watering again. Reduce watering during cooler months when growth slows.
• Does best with moderate to high humidity, but adaptable to household humidity
